Byron Center Bulldogs Varsity and East Kentwood traded the lead back-and-forth on Saturday, but eventually Byron Center Bulldogs Varsity prevailed 3-2 to win the District Championship. Gavin Nelson picked up the win for the Bulldogs while Trent Champlin picked up the save. Byron Center Bulldogs Varsity took the lead for good in the fifth inning. The game was tied at two with Byron Center Bulldogs Varsity batting in the top of the fifth when a runner stole home.
Byron Center Bulldogs Varsity took an early lead in the first inning. With one out in the first inning Noah Bloye drove in one run when he singled.
In the top of the fourth inning, Byron Center Bulldogs Varsity tied things up at two. Zac Saltzgaber singled on a 2-1 count in the fourth inning, scoring one run.
Saltzgaber and Bloye each drove in one run to lead Byron Center Bulldogs Varsity.
