Bulldogs News · Stay Positive BC!

Dear Bulldog Nation,

The ability to face adversity while remaining positive and determined has quickly become the most important characteristic we have tried to instill in our students.  With Bulldog Nation’s support, we have worked very hard over the past few years to create a positive and encouraging atmosphere and learning environment for our students, artists, athletes, parents, teachers, coaches, and guests who are exposed to everything “Bulldog Nation.” This positive atmosphere has played a major role in pushing our performance in the areas of academics, fine arts, and athletics to levels never before achieved.  We are very grateful for the effort our community and parents have played in developing this atmosphere.

Recently, we have seen a small increase in level of passion displayed, specifically, at our athletic contests.  We understand and encourage our community, fans, and students to be passionate about our student athletes performances! Unfortunately, this passion has begun to be directed at opposing teams, individuals, and officials.  Subsequently, it has begun to allow negativity and frustration seep into the culture we have all worked so hard to create.

Please understand that our administrators, coaches, officials, and guests will never be perfect.  Often times they will make mistakes.  We are asking that you help us to redirect the frustration and disappointment we all feel when we make mistakes or do not perform to the levels we are accustomed to.  We Are BC for a reason and your support and efforts continue to play a major role in our the culture we have created and in all of our successes!  Stay Positive BC!!!

Additionally, we are asking our fans to help us remain responsible in how we present ourselves in a school atmosphere.  Please remember these are high school events, aside from being extremely loud and supportive, what would not be appropriate while arriving on campus during the day or at parent teacher conferences or work, should also not be appropriate in the learning environment we have created at Byron Center Athletic Contests.  Please stay responsible.  Again, please continue to cheer loud, encourage our student athletes, and support our coaches and referees regardless of the mistakes they may make!

Thank You,

Mr. Holden
